Great place for music. They have a band on every night which is a nice option. The staff think they're very 'cool' which was a little annoying.
Best live punk bar ever. About as subversive as allowed on the mainland, 3 different live bands per night in the back room. It’s small. You could watch from upstairs too but nobody does. There’s no loo but there’s a public one just outside. No expats, just locals. 👍
Guys believe me, this is such an amazing place for a beer and enjoying the local subculture. It's quite a long time ago, since I have been in Beijing but if I will ever come back, be sure, I will spend some evenings in the school bar. I met a local blues musician and we sat together with the hole band for hours and having such a nice conversation. :-))
We couldn't believe we found a punk bar in Beijing. Heard some great local bands on our visit there. If i am in Beijing again this would be on my nightly itenerary. Two story. Sitting rooms, bar and of course, the band area with room to dance. If you want to see how they do rock in Beijing go here
Best punk bar, correction. THE punk bar in Beijing. Owner Liu Hao is so kind and easy to talk to and he is a true OG/GOAT/legend in the Chinese punk community.
